PARK PRIDE DAY Saturday, May 19
Dear Park Patron,
The Streamwood Park District would like to invite Streamwood residents out to the second annual “Park Pride Day“. This event will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 in our local parks. This is a community wide event to invite the residents/neighbors of the parks to come out and help “spruce” them up for the summer season.
There will be an Informational Meeting held at Park Place Monday, April 16th at 7 pm. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the days’ agenda, responsibilities, and to answer any questions you might have regarding the event. The itinerary will be simple, work in the park from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. with a lunch to follow from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. at the Hoosier Grove Barn located at 700 W. Irving Park Rd.
This event will now be coordinated with our on-going Adopt-A-Park program, in such that those who have already adopted parks will be keeping those parks to maintain and those that wish to help out in the parks the third Saturday in May, will just be assisting in that days’ tasks.
We hope to see you on Monday, April 16th at 7 p.m. We will be meeting downstairs at Park Place in the East Meeting room. Please RSVP to the Park Administrative Assistant by 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 11th by calling (630) 483-3167 or via email at sharris@streamwoodparkdistrict.org.

Vandalism Hotline:
Public playgrounds have become the targets of arsonists and
when a loss occurs, an entire playground worth tens of thousands of dollars can be
lost to the children of the community within a matter of minutes. Other park
amenities such as shelters have also been damaged or destroyed. Park staff also
spends hours removing graffiti on park structures and playgrounds. As much as staff
and local law enforcement officers try to prevent these incidents, sometimes local
residents and park users are the best source of information about who may be
involved in these acts.
Help protect your Parks. Call the confidential Streamwood Park District Vandalism
Hotline at (630) 483-3134 or e-mail vandalism@SpdCares.com.
