CPRP is an acronym for Certified Park and Recreation Professional. Certification is earned by
education, work experience, and a written examination.
The staff member maintains the professional
status by collecting a required number of Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) every two years
through attendance at conferences, workshops, and other sources.
PPRP is an acronym for
Provisional Park and Recreation Professional. This certification is awarded to applicants that have met
the requirements of Certified Park and Recreation Professional, but are waiting to take the written
examination. Once they have passed the exam, they will achieve the highest level of certification
(CPRP).
