Tree Memorial Program
The Tree Donation Program provides a special long-lasting way
of commemorating a special event such as:
• Celebration of a Birth • Celebration of an Anniversary •
• In Memory of a Loved One •
• Commemorate a Special Achievement •
• Recognize a Dedicated Employee • Celebrate Retirement •
How do I donate a tree?
For a one-time donation of $500, a tree will be planted at a park
of your choice, depending upon availability. One of the Park
District’s knowledgeable parks’ staff will meet with you, the
donor, to assist in selecting a location that is mutually desirable
by both the donor and the Park District. Parks’ staff also can
assist with the selection of the tree desired.
All trees chosen for planting are two and one half to three
inches in diameter, since young trees of this size have the best
chance of survival after transplanting. In the event your tree
dies, the Streamwood Park District will ensure that a similar,
new tree is planted in its place as promptly as schedules and
weather allows. Trees will be planted in the spring and fall, in
conjunction with the Park District’s planting schedule.
Additionally, your commemorative gift will be engraved on a
plaque that will be mounted on a display plaque located in the
lower level of Park Place, next to the Registration office. A
certificate of acknowledgement will be sent to you in
recognition of the purchase of your tree.
